The Carroll County
Farm-to-School Project
Carroll County's school districts are convinced of the benefits of locally sourcing the food they serve local kids. However, seeking out local producers is quite time-consuming.
School nutrition managers and cafeteria directors don't have the luxury of a lot of free time to visit local orchards, seek out fruit and vegetable growers, or negotiate with local poultry processors, egg production plants, pork processors and beef producers.
